At Herrmann Fashions we CARE. We care for the way you look and feel. We also care for our workmanship and reputation. Because we care, we do not cut corners on quality to give you the best products and services possible. We personally pay meticulous attention to all details on the construction of our clothes. Our refusal to allow our apparel to show a single wrinkle and our constant emphasis on a perfect fit have elevated us to a true artist.

Because ready-made suits are cut from standardized patterns, a perfect fit is virtually impossible.  Herrmann's suits, which are hand stitched and still have canvasses comprised of horsehair  and wool, maintain their appearance after years of wear.  

Ready-made suits, however, are generally fused (glued) rather than hand sewn.  They feel stiff in the chest, lapels, pockets and collar.  After some wear and cleaning, usually less than a year, the glue dries out and layers of fabric "bubble," pulling apart.  Nothing can be done to prevent or correct this process.  In the long run, ready-made suits are more expensive than custom-made, which last twenty or more years.

 

Coat Features

  • Eight hundred individual stitches go into the formation of the lapel, thus maintaining its shape for the life of the suit.
  • Chest canvas is comprised of tightly woven horses hair covered with soft cotton for a smooth individualized fit. 
  • Skillfully hand-sewn sleeve open buttonholes blend smoothly into the fabric.
  • Armholes are shaped by hand to ensure longer wear and to conform to the natural shape of the body.  Herrmann's trademark is his skill in aligning the fabric perfectly through the armhole so it appears to be a continuous flow of fabric with no interruptions in the lines.  
  • Shoulder pads are individually cut and hand sewn.  
  • Hand-sewn pockets softly mold to the body without stiffness, double stitched for reinforcement. 
  • Full lining of 100% silk, cotton or silk/cotton mix is hand basted into place prior to sewing to assure conformity with body movements.  It never sags even after wear and cleaning. 
 
 

Trouser Features

  • Comfortable no-roll waistband creates a relaxed fit. 
  • Highest quality pockets, extra deep, are reinforced to ensure shape retention and durability. 
  • Premium grade lining from waist to knees protects vulnerable areas of wear in the crotch and knees.
  • Tape placed in hems protects the fabric from fraying due to constant contact with shoes.
 
 

Shirt Features
Herrmann's custom-made shirts are individually crafted from the worlds finest fabrics.  Only the best 100% natural cottons woven in mills located in England, Italy, and Switzerland find their way into the Herrmann's workshop.  Our extensive selection ranges from versatile Pinpoint Cotton to premium Sea Island and Egyptian Cotton. 

 

  • Starching s never necessary due to the unique construction of Herrmann's collars and cuffs.  Even after cleaning or wearing, Herrmann's shirts maintain their shape.  John Rockefeller, who knew the value of a dollar, regularly had his custom-made shirts reconditioned (changed the collars and cuffs) every five years, thus extending their lives to 15-20 years.
  • Every shirt is hand crafted to your unique measurements.  Herrmann can achieve the perfect fit (straightening a curved back, reducing a thick waist, lengthening a neck).
  • Unlike ready-made shirts which are fitted to only 2 measurements, Herrmann's custom-made shirts are fitted to 13 measurements.  No matter what brand name, ready-made can never be comparable to custom-made.
  • Herrmann pays individual attention to the finer points of styling and detail, fabric selection, cuffs, collars, and pocket styles.
